open house Teaching award
It's been a hectic weekend so far. I got a project to hand up on today but I had to skip the class because of an interview. There are still 4 projects to go!
NTU Open House 2009 came and went on Saturday. I guess everything went smoothly. It's quite an experience, even though most of the time I am just giving directions to visiters. Despite the long hours of mundane direction-answering, 2 incidents popped up along the way.
Incident 1:
I saw a 'ah peh' standing at in front of the notice board which states the schedules of the talks and events. Being helpful and kind-hearted, I offered my assistance to him.
Me: Hi! May I offer you any assistance?
Mysterious Old-Man: No, it's okay.
Me: Ok, sure.
Mysterious Old-Man: Which faculty are you from by the way?
Me: The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Mysterious Old-Man: So what course are you taking?
So he went on to ask me about my course and life in NTU. He also asked if I liked the life and environment here. After a while...
Mysterious Old-Man: Actually, I am the Chairman of the Open House.
I stood there dumbfounded.
Incident 2:
An "ang moh" approached me and asked the way to enter Tan Chin Tuan LT.
Mysterious Ang Moh: How do I get into Tan Chin Tuan LT?
Me: Oh, you can enter from the entrance in the front. (Points)
Mysterious Ang Moh: Okay thanks.
Me: (Looking at my watch) Oh the current talk is ending soon, would you like to go for the next one instead?
Mysterious Ang Moh: No it's okay, I am giving the next talk.
I stood there dumbfounded for the second time.
All in all, it was fun and quite relaxing. I made some foreign friends in the meantime too. Incidentally, the other guy looks like Khong Chin when he was younger. Haha.

Wei Ming also came to visit Qui Fong and me. Haha. These two are my juniors back in NYJC Band.

Today I went for an interview at MOE for the Teaching Award. Haha. Well, it was a little jerky along the process but I am glad I got accepted for the award. =D Thanks to everyone who wished me luck, I am sure it helps a lot. Now I can concentrate on my studies.
