recent outings
Long pictorial post. Shall talk about the recent outings I had. Haha.
On 31st May, I went for a gathering at Sentosa, courtesy of Ming Min and gang, for a 'reunion' of 3 generations from NYJC Band. The turnout wasn't really high for both the 'laojiao' and the 'super gina', only a handful could make it. The bulk of it was mainly from Ming Min's batch, but still, at least I caught a glimpse of the youngest batch. It wasn't fantastically fun, but the gathering and catching up was well worth it. We played games like 'Dodgeball' but most of the time, we were just chatting. The sun was quite hospitable as it was rather cloudy. Well, here are the pictures!

I had no idea why they brought a watermelon there in the first place, but I thought I would be gentleman-ly enough to offer to carry it. Haha. I realised it was quite redundant, considering the fact that we couldn't finish the food and ended up bringing the watermelon back to mainland.

Ruth is still the cute little girl she was back then. Keeping that in mind, she's moving on to become a Chinese teacher in the near future, and I am sure kids will love her to bits. Haha. She was telling me about her Taiwan trip a few weeks ago, and it brought back fond and unforgettable memories of how I spent many days there, with Aloysius and others. Haha. It a really nice place, and being of similar language and culture, I think it won't be tough for Singaporeans to fit in there. But still, both of us agreed that, going there for a getaway will be more feasible than migrating there. Haha.
Moving on, the few of us went to celebrate Nevin's 21st birthday last Friday. It wasn't much of a hoo-hah. just a simple dinner with every closeness and sincerity felt. We headed down to Marche at Vivocity, and it was extremely crowded. We wouldn't have got in, if not for the reservations made by Sharon. Many thanks to her. We were walking around and suddenly feeling kind of 'high' and we dared Yang Jie into asking the lady selling 包 to help us take a picture.
"你敢叫她帮我们拍,我就敢拍!"
So here we are, posing with 'dim sum's and 'baos'. Take note, the picture was taken from the inside of the stall. Haha. Yang Jie really did it. =.=

We went to Minds' Cafe after that, with Hui Juan joining us. We took the same old seats which we had last time round. Stupid games with lots of laughter, I guess we meet the purpose. Haha.

It's still amazing at the fact on how we still managed to keep in touch with each other. Haha. I guess some things can't be explained, and its more important to cherish these precious relationships.

Happy 21st, Nevin.
I went to the gym with Hui Juan in the morning on Saturday. After which, we went to eat the famous porridge at my block. Haha. The 'ingenious' suggestion of having Ice Milo with pork porridge together wasn't that fantastic. Was feeling rather uneasy after that. Haha. Still, the porridge is nice. =)
Sunday was a shopping trip with Tessa. Haha. Supposed to be a 'let-your-hair-down-and -chiong-the-sale' kind of shopping spree, but I didn't buy anything except 2 cups of ice-blended coffee from Coffee Bean. Haha. Was thinking of walking around and recee-ing for stuffs to buy. I went to the Onitsuka Tiger outlet at Paragon but couldn't find the shoes that I liked, largely to my dismay. Haha. I also missed the striped polo-tee I saw at Esprit 2 months back. Should have gotten it. Haha.
I met up with Wei Yen after which, for dinner. Surprisingly, I got myself some good deals at Marina Square. Haha. Got a pair of shorts from John Little and a cute t-shirt from Baleno. The shirt is under the 'Save the Earth' Campaign, and is only six bucks. To top it off, I think its super comfy. Nowadays, people are becoming more 'Gaia-friendly' and conscious about environmental preservation, one way is by saving plastic usage by reusing those shopping bags. And with a Earth-friendly friend like Khong Chin around, its hard to get completely ignorant about it.
Roughly, that's where I have been these weeks.
Anyway, here's something for all to check out. Here's another website (www.topsstreet.blogspot.com) for you to buy printed t-shirts. I think its theme revolves around Singapore and her culture. Its started by one of my old friend, Wanrong, an ex-NYJCian as a project in her school. So you guys might want to take a look and support her! Sharon, you better go support! Haha. If any of you is interested or want to know more, you can find me or just tag at that blog.
Time to sleep!
Many 21st coming up. Just like a marathon. Haha.
