2nd week in laramie

Woot. It's the 2nd week in Laramie, Wyoming already. Didn't really do much this week, but nonetheless I still have stuffs to blog about.

After the trip from Miami, school has started to pick up a little. There are assignments and readings (which I refused to start on) here and there and they go one chapter in 2 days. So it's kind of difficult to motivate yourself to read, especially when you know your grades doesn't really matter. Haha.

Well, the main highlight for this week is the club and the indian restaurant that we visited. First up, the club. I am sure you guys must be wondering how is it like in a club in United States. We visited one on Thursday night, but as we have minors with us, we could only enter the 18 & above club. Haha.

You shouldn't generalise what you see here to the major cities in US. Laramie is a peaceful and sparsely populated town, so what you see here is quite simple and plain. A wooden dance floor, a wide screen projector, and a few cowboy tables and a bar. That's about it.

This is one song where they did a mass dance. Haha. Cool right? Everyone seems to know the dance steps (duh). Haha.

The music didn't really appeal to us. There was a lot of rap and stuff. Haha. But at least Katy Perry, Britney & Lady Gaga came up a few times. Even Miley Cyrus too. Haha. Well, that's about it. They don't serve alcohol as this is a underage club. Haha. Damn boring. But the beer/alcohol here is freaking cheap. It's like a dollar per 750 ml.

Also, we went to an Indian Restaurant near my hall. And I tell you, it's fantastic.

I am not really a fan of Indian food but the curry and the chicken and the naan and the whatever and whichever. Haha. They just taste delicious. And the best part is, it's a buffet. Haha. How I wish I can bring some of these back home. Haha.

Oh and by the way, I visited Quinoz. It's a sandwich fastfood chain that appeared in Orchard Central a few months back. You guys should go try it back in Singapore. The sandwich they make is damn delicious, probably the beef they used here are fresher.

Haha. That roughly sums up this week. But I shall update you more on my daily rountine. This is what I eat almost every meal.

It's like Marche in here with different stalls serving different kinds of food. So we are allowed to take as much as we want. Haha. Seems like I eat a lot, doesn't it? Guess what, there's still dessert. =) I AM A FATTY BOM BOM.

And this is my secondary mode of transportation. Haha. If not, usually I walk to campus. It's a $20 rental charge for the whole semester. And as Laramie doesn't have public transport, a bicycle is really all you can get if you want to do downtown. The only downside is, it's really cold out there. Kids don't try this here.

And finally, something to intrigue you guys. Can you make a guess what this is? It's a handle that my finger is pointing to, and of course, it can be turned. This device is mounted on the wall of the classroom. Let's see who can give interesting answers.

And lastly, a photo of me with Chief Washakie, supposedly the person who ruled this place when iron and carbon remained buried under the ground years ago.
