adelene's chalet
Yesterday was an exhausting day.
I went to play soccer early in the morning. Haha. I really played like shit. I don't know why. Can't get hold of the ball at all. Haha. Forget it, I guess I will try harder next week.
After which, De Shun and I caught up with each other and headed down to IT Fair to get some equipments. It was super crowded and the human traffic was hardly moving half the time. It was tough making our way around, but end stage we still managed to get our stuff. I got a 160GB external hard disk. I thought it was necessary as my computer tends to crash when it is in a bad mood. Haha.
Its was Adelene's 21st Birthday Chalet at NSRCC. Having Johnny and Marc back together was certainly one of the highlights at the chalet. They never seemed to run out of lame jokes to say. And that classic 'Spartans' scence kept replaying itself. Haha.
And to Adelene: Happy 21st Birthday!
NSRCC is really a no man's land. If you miss the shuttle bus, the nearest bus stop is an hour's walk away. Not to mention the waiting time for the bus to arrive. To top if off, the bus goes to Tanah Merah MRT and and stops at Bedok Int, places which people living in Hougang hates to appear in. In the end, we went to Tampines and took 27 back to Hougang. Haha. We left the chalet at 10.30p.m, and I reached home at 1.30a.m.
What a trip.
I was discussing with Aloysius today about expenditure problems that we face. I think I am earning a substantial amount monthly, considering the fact that I work overtime half the time and I try to avoid unneccesary expenses. Haha. I guess the 'Cash-Flow' game taught me something. But coming from a not-so-well-off family, I guess being thrifty was one of the core values taught between me and my brother. On one hand, my father always like to talk about the main purpose behind people earning money; to keep themselves alive. So when it comes to food, we will be more willing to spend. There goes the same for me, when it comes to occassions and all, I am more generous in one way or another.
I have seen a live example between 2 interns at work, one in which work day-in day-out to support herself and probably her family, while the other seemed to be leeching off her parents' fortunes aimlessly.
I am glad that I was brought up well.
Well done, Mom and Dad.
I got a urge to catch 'Leap Years', despite Aloysius' warning. So anyone?
